ANCIENT SECRETS。 MODERN WEAPONS 。 。 。

When Kurt Austin rescues the crew of a Scottish trawler, he finds himself trying to save them not once but twice。 First, from the violent storm that dashes their vessel into jagged rocks and, second, from the deadly gunmen desperate to get their hands on its lost cargo of stolen Egyptian artefacts。

Soon Kurt - with the assistance of resourceful MI5 agent Morgan Manning - is on the hunt for the source of these artefacts。 It's a journey that takes them around the world and draws the fury of the mysterious Bloodstone group - an international network of murderous individuals who'll kill anyone in their way。 But what do gunmen want with ancient loot?

One thing is for sure, if Kurt is to find out he's going to be in the cross hairs of some ruthless and well-armed foes 。 。 。

Book Review 24 - Numa Files #17 Journey of The Pharaohs by Clive CusslerThis is the 1st book released after Clive Cussler's death。This book has a fantastic plot and story involving Egyptians and their treasure on a long journey from Egypt。Like most of Clive Cussler's novels, this book is action packed and filled with interesting developments and plot twists。I won't reveal too many details of the plot as I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might want to read it。 *****🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Book Review 24 - Numa Files #17 Journey of The Pharaohs by Clive CusslerThis is the 1st book released after Clive Cussler's death。This book has a fantastic plot and story involving Egyptians and their treasure on a long journey from Egypt。Like most of Clive Cussler's novels, this book is action packed and filled with interesting developments and plot twists。I won't reveal too many details of the plot as I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might want to read it。 *****🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 。。。more

Pretty good Austin adventure。 He and Joe are on vacation in Scotland when they notice a boat in trouble。 When they ride out to the rescue they find themselves involved in an international arms dealing case that also involves an Ancient Egyptian mystery。 Teaming with an MI-5 agent, Kurt Joe and the Trouts must beat them to the treasure and stop them from causing an incident。

Kurt hunts for the greatest treasures of the Pharaohs。

Journey if the Pharaohs is the first Clive Cussler Novel that I have read it was fast paced and easy to read with a surprise ending。 It had a surprise ending but it has haphazardly constructed。 I plan on reading more Clive Cussler books。

This book had me hooked from the beginning to the end and I really enjoyed reading it。 It's an awesome story with likeable  and interesting characters told in a very easy way to read。 This is the second Clive Cussler book I've read and easily one of my favourites。 Will definitely read more by him。 This book had me hooked from the beginning to the end and I really enjoyed reading it。 It's an awesome story with likeable  and interesting characters told in a very easy way to read。 This is the second Clive Cussler book I've read and easily one of my favourites。 Will definitely read more by him。 。。。more

Nice and easy read that is packed with adventure and hero’s and bad guys getting what they deserved。 I liked the twist of Egyptian history and love the idea that a treasure that grand exists。 The story isn’t overly complicated but has enough turns and excitement to keep you reading。

The novels from the NUMa Files are among my favorites from Clive Cussler's series of novels。Journey of the Pharaohs did not disappoint。 From vast treasures disappearing in 1074 B。C。 from the tombs of ancient Egyptian Pharaohs to daredevil American aviator vanishing on a transcontinental flight in 1927 to a fishing trawler in the present day - along with its secret cargo - sinking off the coast of Scotland leads Kurt Austin and the NUMA team to figure out how those mysterious events are related。T The novels from the NUMa Files are among my favorites from Clive Cussler's series of novels。Journey of the Pharaohs did not disappoint。 From vast treasures disappearing in 1074 B。C。 from the tombs of ancient Egyptian Pharaohs to daredevil American aviator vanishing on a transcontinental flight in 1927 to a fishing trawler in the present day - along with its secret cargo - sinking off the coast of Scotland leads Kurt Austin and the NUMA team to figure out how those mysterious events are related。The NUMA team joins agents from the British MI5 to take on an international conspiracy and a dangerous conglomerate of arms dealers and thieves trying to steal ancient relics on both sides of the Atlantic。Kurt and his team find themselves involved in a treacherous treasure hunt for the Egyptian riches。The whole thing ends with an unexpected surprise。If you are a fan of Clive Cussler and the NUMA Files novels, you will be sure to enjoy this one。 。。。more

Excellent read! Action packed! Love Clive Cussler!

I loved Nighthawk, my first NUMA book, but haven’t enjoyed any of its follow-ups nearly as much。 I don’t think I’m quite as endeared to the series’ recurring characters as I am with other Cussler works。 I like these people just fine, but I actually get excited when I know I’m about to spend time with the Fargos or the crew of The Oregon。 Still, it’s a decent book with a fun twist and a great epilogue。 After a triple dose of Cussler, I think I’ll shift over to another thriller writer fave of mine I loved Nighthawk, my first NUMA book, but haven’t enjoyed any of its follow-ups nearly as much。 I don’t think I’m quite as endeared to the series’ recurring characters as I am with other Cussler works。 I like these people just fine, but I actually get excited when I know I’m about to spend time with the Fargos or the crew of The Oregon。 Still, it’s a decent book with a fun twist and a great epilogue。 After a triple dose of Cussler, I think I’ll shift over to another thriller writer fave of mine, David Baldacci。 。。。more

Stolen antiquities, vast Egyptian treasure moved thousands of miles, and greedAnother fantastic adventure as NUMA experts run into a cruel gang and pull out all the stops to shut down these criminals who are determined to steal and blackmarket the treasures of ancient Egypt。 A superb tale with page-turning action right to the end and filled with surprises。 Well worth the time。

It starts off good with a major storm and a ship sinking。 Kurt and Joe just happen to be on vacation and jump into the action to save the crew。It gets unbelievable when a crazy criminal illegal arms organization tries to recover the artifact from the ship。 They turn incredibly dangerous and even follow into the U。S。 to achieve their goals based upon a theory that only QAnon followers would believe。 It's one thing to follow an ancient map and a whole different story to kill anyone in your way bas It starts off good with a major storm and a ship sinking。 Kurt and Joe just happen to be on vacation and jump into the action to save the crew。It gets unbelievable when a crazy criminal illegal arms organization tries to recover the artifact from the ship。 They turn incredibly dangerous and even follow into the U。S。 to achieve their goals based upon a theory that only QAnon followers would believe。 It's one thing to follow an ancient map and a whole different story to kill anyone in your way based upon such scant evidence。It's just a bit too unbelievable to have much interest。 At least it stays fast pace as the killer organization pulls out all the stops。 I think Cussler has created too many hidden treasure stories。 The wealth they've found exceeds the wealth of the entire world 10 time over。 I also don't like how reckless Kurt, Joe, Gammeed, and Paul act while under fire。 The Navajo Indians apparently know something that no one else knows。 I'll keep the secret。 。。。more

Typical Cussler novel。。。globetrotting, danger around every corner and a little history。I actually got this copy signed before Mr Cussler passed away so reading this was bittersweet。

Spoiler alert。 The goodies can do no wrong and the amazingly powerful baddies fail at every turn。 This is unbelievable nonsense, presumably written by a primary schooler for his non discerning friends。

I was glued to my seat the entire time reading this Clive Cussler novel !!The NUMA files are always keeping you off guard until the end!! Then BOOM, you realize that he finished the book with more than you were ready for!!!

Darn shame Mr。 Cussler passed away。 The stories to me seem to be even faster paced than in the past。

This is classic Cussler。 History, action, drama, and adventure, all with well-developed and fun characters。 I appreciate Cussler's ability to write good fiction while keeping objectionable elements to a minimum。 Journey of the Pharaohs deals with the possibility of travelers coming to the North American continent long before it was "discovered" by Columbus。 This possibility launches an epic search for Egyptian treasure buried in one of the most unlikely places on earth。 Another good read from Cl This is classic Cussler。 History, action, drama, and adventure, all with well-developed and fun characters。 I appreciate Cussler's ability to write good fiction while keeping objectionable elements to a minimum。 Journey of the Pharaohs deals with the possibility of travelers coming to the North American continent long before it was "discovered" by Columbus。 This possibility launches an epic search for Egyptian treasure buried in one of the most unlikely places on earth。 Another good read from Clive Cussler。 。。。more

I enjoyed this addition to the Numa Files series。 As always Kurt and Joe delivery with plenty of action。 I listened to the audiobook version (Scott Brick did a great job) and this was not a continuous listen so that might be impacting my perception。 I felt like I didn’t get enough Kurt and Joe during this one。 I still liked the book but at the end it all still felt very surface level to me。

By this point I'm not sure how much the late Clive Cussler had to do w/any of his various ongoing series beyond slapping his name on them and collecting the residual checks, but if--as I suspect--the bulk of the heavy lifting was done by his "Co-writer" Graham Brown, then kudos to the latter for an entertaining read。Even at the height of his powers Mr。 Cussler was not what I'd classify as a great writer。 What he did was tell fun, escapist stories。 He was literary fast food, and there's absolutel By this point I'm not sure how much the late Clive Cussler had to do w/any of his various ongoing series beyond slapping his name on them and collecting the residual checks, but if--as I suspect--the bulk of the heavy lifting was done by his "Co-writer" Graham Brown, then kudos to the latter for an entertaining read。Even at the height of his powers Mr。 Cussler was not what I'd classify as a great writer。 What he did was tell fun, escapist stories。 He was literary fast food, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that。 Not every novel has to be War and Peace, just as every movie doesn't have to be The Godfather or every meal gourmet。 I read to unwind and escape。 To clear the flotsam and jetsam from my mind, and the kinds of stories Mr。 Cussler and his collaborators write fit that bill perfectly。If you want art, you're in the wrong neighborhood。 If you want to trot globes and tussle w/bad guys, this is your ticket right here。 。。。more

Kurt Austin and his friend Joe Zavala were holidaying on the Isle of Skye when a trawler foundered on the rocks in a violent storm。 Kurt and Joe rescued the crew, although the one passenger didn’t survive。 What followed led Kurt and Joe first to London where they joined forces with MI5, and around various countries following the trail of a plane with an American pilot onboard that had gone missing in 1927, plus an event of historical significance that took place in 1074 BC, when a Pharaoh vanish Kurt Austin and his friend Joe Zavala were holidaying on the Isle of Skye when a trawler foundered on the rocks in a violent storm。 Kurt and Joe rescued the crew, although the one passenger didn’t survive。 What followed led Kurt and Joe first to London where they joined forces with MI5, and around various countries following the trail of a plane with an American pilot onboard that had gone missing in 1927, plus an event of historical significance that took place in 1074 BC, when a Pharaoh vanished along with many treasures。The Bloodstone Group were not just common criminals。 Arms dealers, killers and thieves of ancient relics had meant the group was on the law’s radar and had been for some considerable time。 As Kurt and Joe, Paul and Gamay Trout and Morgan Manning from MI5 joined forces to track down the group before they found the latest treasures, Kurt wondered if they’d be too late…Journey of the Pharaohs is the 17th in the Numa Files by Clive Cussler and as is always the way when I read a Cussler, I’m impressed with the action, electric pace and sheer entertainment which comprises a Cussler novel。 Brilliant。 It was great to catch up with Kurt, Joe, Paul and Gamay, plus Hiriam Yaeger and Rudi Gunn, as well as Admiral Sandecker。 Such a great cast of characters! Highly recommended。 。。。more

It was the same as most Clive Cussler books, but, like the others, an easy, fun read。

According to the verso page this novel was published in 2020, so it should officially be Clive Cussler's last offering。 I enjoy Cussler novels although Dirk Pitt's endless resources tend to be a bit too convenient。 Kurt Austin, is something of a latter-day Pitt clone, but this story relies on the individuals involved in a goodies-vs-baddies battle of wits and accompanying shoot-outs, making it far more rewarding。 Co-writer Graham Brown may deserve much of the credit for this fast-paced continent According to the verso page this novel was published in 2020, so it should officially be Clive Cussler's last offering。 I enjoy Cussler novels although Dirk Pitt's endless resources tend to be a bit too convenient。 Kurt Austin, is something of a latter-day Pitt clone, but this story relies on the individuals involved in a goodies-vs-baddies battle of wits and accompanying shoot-outs, making it far more rewarding。 Co-writer Graham Brown may deserve much of the credit for this fast-paced continent-spanning treasure hunt。 So if you're Cussler fan, or just like good, old-fashioned adventure stories, you'll enjoy 'Journey of the Pharaohs'。 。。。more
